GECONEU course: an introduction to Genetic counseling of Neurodegenerative disorders

INTRODUCTION

• This free e-learning course is an introduction course to Genetic Counseling in Neurodegenerative Disorders.
• It includes basic theory on inherited methods, neurodegenerative inherited diseases, and ethical aspects of genetics and Genetic Counseling. It goes deeper into the main counseling approaches and how they can cultivate counseling and communication skills. The last part covers the implementation of Genetic Counseling sessions, including guidelines and protocols including some practical case scenarios.

• This e-learning course targets Health and Life Science and Biomedical Science students such as Biology, Medicine, Nursing, Sociology, Psychology, as well as any professional in the field of Health Sciences who is interested in learning more about Genetic Counseling.

• This course has been prepared by the team of the GECONEU Erasmus+ project http://www.genecounsel.eu/index.php/consortium

• The successful completion of the e-course will be proved by mini-questionnairesubmission for each Lesson. Participants need to answer the mini-questionnaire of each Lesson to pass on to the next Lesson. The total passing grade required is 70% which leads to a Certificate of Knowledge.
